How to Draw a Dump Truck
Dump trucks serve their one basic purpose by living up to their namesake: they dump. Although they come in varying sizes of "big," the trucks are an indispensable tool for construction companies when earth, debris or raw material needs to be moved to another location and unloaded. Drawing a basic Ford model dump truck, a common sight among construction areas, involves paying attention to the details to make the art a reasonable rendition of the subject matter.

1
Draw a rectangle on your page, sized according to how large or small you want your dump truck to be. Draw it slightly right of center to allow for room to draw the cab. Draw a square, flush to the left of the rectangle. These create the basic shape of the bin (the rectangle) and cab (the square).

2
Draw another square flush to the left of the cab, but make it slightly longer than the other to make the hood/main body of the truck. Erase the bottom of this square and redraw an arch to create the front rear wheel well. Draw two circles next to one another at the rear bottom of the dumping bin to make the rear wheels.

3
Erase the line created between the hood and the cab to flesh out truck, then draw a small rectangle next to the front wheel on the cab to create a step/gas tank. Draw a "lip" on the top of the dump bin that lays over the cab, then add in small details like mud flaps, the door, door handles, headlights, bumpers, etc. Erase any errant or overlapping lines you may have made and trace your truck in black ink to make it stand out on the page.
