How to Change a Bulb in a Pendant Lamp
Pendant lamps provide a popular lighting solution based primarily on their decorative aspects. Pendant lights hang from the ceiling on wires or thin metal poles and open into a trumpet-shaped light fixture. The process for changing the bulb in a pendant lamp depends on the type of light bulb the lamp requires. Locate the switch for the pendant lamp and verify that it is in the "Off" position.

Position a step stool under the pendant lamp to access it.

Place one hand on the existing bulb and gently turn it counterclockwise to remove it from the socket. Or, if the pendant lamps takes a plug-in bulb, simply pull it straight out from the base of the lamp.

Discard the old bulb.

Insert a new light bulb into the lamp by either screwing it in for traditional sockets, or by pushing the bulb into the base for a pronged bulb.

Turn the pendant lamp switch to the "On" position to test that the new light bulb works.
