How to Convert RM to WMV for Free
RM, or "Real Media," files contain audio and video data. RM files were created for Real Player. Because RM files are proprietary, they cannot be played in many common media players, including Windows Media Player. WMV files are "Windows Media Video" files and are the proprietary format used with the Windows Media Player. You can convert RM files into WMV files with a free web-based solution.

Navigate to the Zamzar website (see link in Resources), which provides a free service that converts many different file types.

Import the Real Media file you want to convert. Click the "Browse" button located on the left side of the page.

Click the output drop-down menu and choose "WMV" from the list.

Enter your email address. A link to download the converted file will be emailed to you.

Open the email sent to you from Zamzar and click the link in the email. This downloads the file to your computer.
