Ice cream is a great treat on a hot summer day or any day for that matter. Going to the ice cream shop can be a thrilling experience because you get to choose you favorite flavor of ice cream; you also get to choose between a cup or a cone. Cones are great because you get to enjoy consuming both ice cream and cone but the structure of the cone makes it easier for ice cream to drip and cause a mess. There is a way to prevent ice cream from dripping that is both practical and delicious. Does this Spark an idea?

      Unwrap one ice cream cone from the box. You can choose a waffle cone or a sugar cone. This method works for both.

      Place a few mini marshmallows at the bottom of the ice cream cone. You can also use one whole marshmallow at the bottom of a sugar cone; these cones usually have a wider and flatter base. The marshmallows will create a barrier between the ice cream and the cone, absorbing some of the ice cream that begins to melt. You can also use small chocolate candies (such as M&Ms) to prevent ice cream from dripping.

      Scoop out the amount of ice cream you desire. When preparing ice cream you can wait a few minutes before scooping to allow it to get slightly soft. It will easier to remove that way.

      Place the ice cream into the cone. Two or three scoops can likely fit into an ice cream cone.
