How to Convert WMV for Sansa
Sandisk Sansa consists of a line of MP3 players that allows you to play back media content on the go. They come in a variety of colors, designs and memory sizes. Some of the players such as the Fuze or View are video-enabled and include a built-in video player that allows you to play back video. Sansa video players generally support videos in MP4 format. You have to convert a video file in WMV format to upload it to your Sansa player.

1
Download and install a video converter program. To convert WMV to a Sansa MP3 video format, you need a video converter program. Download any of the free video converter programs, such as AVC Video Converter, Prism or Extensoft (see links in Resources).
-
2
Launch the video converter program and import your WMV video file from its location on your computer. Generally, you can import your video clip by clicking "Add Video," "Add" or "Add Files."
-
-
3
Click "Play" and preview the WMV video file on your converter program's monitor before proceeding to convert it. This ensures that you have the right video clip.
-
4
Select the length of the video to convert using your program's "Mark in" and "Mark out" points. Select "AVI" or "MP4" as your output format. Video-enabled Sansa players generally support video files in AVI or MP4 format. MP4 is especially ideal because it maintains high-quality compressions while keeping files relatively smaller than AVI.
-
5
Select the video pixel resolution you want to use. The resolution varies depending on the Sansa video player model you are using. Refer to your player's documentation if you are unsure of the size your player supports. Select the audio codec you want to use and select the output quality settings. Select "Stereo" for a balanced left and right output.
-
6
Select the target folder to save the output file to and click "Convert" or "Encode" depending on the program you are using. Your file is in a format your video-enabled Sansa player supports. Connect your Sansa player to the computer using the supplied USB cable and transfer the video to your player.
