How to Voice Chat on Nintendo DS
The Nintendo Dual Screen (DS) headset allows you to talk to your friends over Wi-Fi while playing a Nintendo DS video game. The headset allows you to get into the video game while trash-talking to your friends. If you are playing on the same team, you will have an advantage because you are able to communicate and strategize with your friends.

Find your friend's "Friend Code." The only way to use your headset is if you have codes for yourself and your friend and if your friend has a headset as well. You can find your Friend Code when you connect online via Wi-Fi. You have to connect online with the game at least once before the game will generate a code.
The code is a mixture of letters and numbers. It can be found in different places depending on the game--check your manual. You must exchange Friend Codes with whomever you wish to play online and add each other to your Friend Roster. If you have no one specific in mind, but just want some competition, there are a number of online forums that facilitate the exchange of Friend Codes and multiplayer games.

Plug in the voice-headset. There will be a spot to plug in the headset at the bottom of your DS Lite.
-
5
Start the game and play online. All of the games, with the exception of "Pokemon Diamond and Pearl" will have a multiplayer option at the main menu. In the Pokemon series, you have to go downstairs of the Pokemon Center and speak with the girl closest to desk in order to voice chat and battle with your friend. She will give you a Pal Pad. Once you are online playing with your friend, you can talk with him all you want.
