How to Remove Paint From Laminate
Laminate is a material used in a variety of residential and commercial structures. From laminate cabinets to flooring, laminate is not too difficult to install and maintain. To remove most stains and dirt from laminate surfaces, soap, water and a non-abrasive cloth or towel is all that is needed. Things You'll Need
- 3 soft, non-abrasive cloths or towels
- Broom
- Rubbing alcohol or acetone
- Latex gloves
- Warm water
- Dishwashing liquid
- Pot

Wipe the laminate surface with a soft, non-abrasive cloth to remove any loose dust or dirt from the area where the paint is present. If the laminate surface is a floor, sweep the area with a broom.

Pour 2 tbsp. of rubbing alcohol or acetone onto a soft, non-abrasive cloth or towel. Wear latex gloves to keep your hands from getting wet with chemicals.

Wipe the paint with the alcohol-soaked cloth. Wipe from the outside of the paint spot to the inside. This will keep the paint from spreading out onto the clean portion of the laminate surface.

Re-apply 2 tbsp. of rubbing alcohol or acetone to the cloth or towel.

Continue wiping the paint spot with the cloth or towel until the paint is gone.

Mix 3 cups of warm water and 1 tbsp. of dishwashing liquid in a pot.

Dip a clean, non-abrasive cloth or towel into the pot of soap solution. Wring out excess solution.

Clean the laminate surface with the soap solution to remove any paint residue from the area where the paint was.

Dry the laminate surface with a clean, non-abrasive cloth or towel.
