How to Use the Airbrush in MS Paint
Paint is the name of the drawing program available from Microsoft. Users often set images created in Paint as the background for their computer desktop or export the images to other documents. In addition, users can open their digital photos or images taken from the Internet in Paint and enhance or manipulate these images. Paint includes a variety of drawing tools, including an airbrush. The airbrush produces a random pattern of pixels that together create a fill effect.

1
Launch Microsoft Paint. Navigate to the tool box located to the left of the canvas, or work space.
-
2
Click on the airbrush icon, which resembles a spray can. A box displaying small, medium and large airbrush sizes will appear below the tool box. Select the desired size by clicking on the corresponding sample.

3
Navigate to the color bar, which is perpendicular to the tool box. Select the desired foreground color by left-clicking on one of the color swatches. Right-click on a color swatch to set that color as the background color. Paint displays the colors you selected in the two partially overlapping swatches to the left of the color bar.
-
4
Position the mouse pointer on the canvas and left-click to leave an airbrush mark using the foreground color. Right-clicking uses the background color. The longer your press the mouse button, the denser and more opaque the airbrush color will become. Move the mouse pointer up, down, left or right to create airbrush lines and shapes.

Use the airbrush to depict differences in tone and variation in an image or to show a gradual color transition.
