How to Add a Stock Index to a Website

Adding a stock index to your website is not a difficult task. While you need to know a little about hypertext markup language (HTML) and how to build websites, you do not have to be a programmer. In fact, most top-rated investment research sites will provide a link to display their ticker symbol on your website as long as you give them credit for the ticker. This is free advertising for them so they're happy to do it. One site with an easy application is MSN.

Instructions

Add MSN Money index to your website. If you do not know the technical aspects of adding links to your website, contact your website administrator. The process varies depending on the website program and the need. The links are:

      Quote: http://moneycentral.msn.com/stock_quote?Symbol=indu

      Chart: http://moneycentral.msn.com/investor/charts/chartdl.aspx?Symbol=indu

Note, we are using the symbol "INDU" at the end of each link. The first link will give you the quote for the Dow and the second link will give you the chart for the Dow.
