How to Rip DVD Audio
From time to time you may want to extract audio from a DVD rather than rip the entire movie. For example, you might want to take a line from a Dirty Harry movie and use it as a ring tone for your cell phone. Regardless of the reason, when the time comes to rip audio from a DVD you'll want to know exactly how to do it cheaply and easily. Fortunately, the software costs around fifty bucks on both Mac and PC platforms.

Tips & Warnings
If you own a Mac and QuickTime Pro it's possible to rip audio without buying any software, but it's a longer process and you'll need to download the shareware application Handbrake to rip your DVD to MP4 first. After you've made the MP4, open it in QuickTime Pro and hit "Export As Sound File."
Remember, it's against the law to copy some DVDs in whole or in part.
