How to Find Jobs for Youth
Finding a job as a teenager can be a challenging process. Many teenagers find themselves battling the traditional catch-22 of needing experience to obtain employment and needing employment to acquire experience. Knowing where to look for entry level jobs that welcome teenage employees can take some creativity, but it is important to know that jobs for teenagers do exist. Friends, family, neighbors and the Internet will be a job seeker's best resources when searching for employment as a teenager.

Search for paid internships. Some internships pay equal to or above minimum wage, making them excellent choices for a teenager's first employment experience. A federal website called Student Jobs lists a variety of jobs and internships for students that are available with the government.

Search through online job boards that are designed specifically for teenagers and students. Snag a Job and My First Paycheck are job boards that exclusively offer entry level work suitable for teenagers.

Start a dog walking, babysitting, cleaning, lawn mowing or other business. Solicit work from family, friends and neighbors. Do all work as well as possible in hopes of obtaining additional business via word of mouth marketing.

Contact local summer camps and amusement parks and ask for information regarding employment. Both of these venues commonly hire teenagers without prior work experience.
