It helps with overall health and should be placed near a water source so that the animals are attracted to it and will not be dehydrated after tasting the salts. There are several varieties of salt licks, and you can even make your own if you have a preferred salt to use or if you have a specific purpose for your salt lick.

Buying the Salt Lick Online

1. Get on your computer and pull up your browser.

2. Go to a search engine and search for "salt licks."

3. Select a salt lick and follow the steps to purchase your salt lick(s) using a major credit card.

Buying a Salt Lick From a Store

1. Open the phone book and find local sporting goods stores.

2. Write the names and numbers down on your paper with a few lines in between each entry.

3. Call each store and ask what brand of salt licks they carry, the price and effectiveness rating. Also ask about acceptable payment options, location and directions if you do not know where they are located.

4. Drive to the store and pick up the salt lick.
