Determine which mail forwarding service covers your location. The service you choose should cover the location where your mail will be delivered and the location to which you will have your mail forwarded.

Choose your mail service. If you make the transaction in person, you will need to show a photo identification and provide your present address. If you make the transaction by mail you will have to send copies of your documentation.

Complete USPS Form 1583: Application for Delivery of Mail Through Agent. This is required to authorize anyone besides the United States Postal Service to handle delivery of your mail. This form must be completed in person at the mail forwarding facility or witnessed by a notary if mailed.

Sign up for Premium Mail Forwarding with the United States Post Office. This service can forward mail between post office boxes in different cities or to nearly any location around the world.

You might need to have the copies of your photo identification notarized, depending on the service you choose.
You do not need to fill out Form 1583 to use the forwarding service provided by the Post Office.
Commercial mail forwarding services can be very expensive. You should set up the service to discard junk mail if possible.
