How to Convert PDF Files to an Editable Format
PDF files have their advantages. They are easy to generate, to email and to upload to websites and file sharing servers. They are small files that are quick to download. They can also be secure; creators can add passwords so others aren't able to edit, save or print the document. For PDF files that aren't password-protected, there may come a time when you want to edit the document. This is not easy when using Adobe or another PDF reader software. It is possible to convert PDF files so they can be edited in another program.

Tips & Warnings
If you have the full version of Adobe Acrobat, it is possible to edit a PDF in Acrobat. But it is much more difficult than doing so in Word.
You can use the Zamzar free online file conversion website (see Resources) to convert the file for you. You upload the file to the website, choose the type you want it converted to, enter your email address and click "Convert." The website converts the file and emails it to you within minutes.
