How to Make a Homemade Cookbook
Between magazine clippings and scribbles on scraps of paper, cooking enthusiasts have a habit of amassing stacks of recipes from a variety of sources. One of the best ways to make sure you can always find a favorite recipe is to put it in a homemade cookbook. A homemade cookbook also can make a great, inexpensive gift for a fellow foodie. Things You'll Need
- Three-ring binder with a clear, plastic cover
- Sheet protectors with three-hole punch-outs
- Page dividers with tabs
- Digital photo of your favorite dish

Sort your favorite recipes into cookbook sections such as appetizer, side dish or main dish, or group them by the type of dish, such as Asian or pasta.

Type your recipes into a word processing program like Microsoft Word. List all the ingredients needed for the recipe, the amount needed and the cooking instructions. Do one recipe per page.

Create a cover for your cookbook by typing in a title at the top of a page and inserting a digital photo of your favorite dish.

Print out the recipes and the cover page.

Slip each recipe into a sheet protector and put the protected sheets in the three-ring binder. Place a page divider with a tab at the front of each section. Write the name of each section on each tab.

Slip the cover page under the plastic cover of the three-ring binder.
