Instructions

    • 1

Address the larger envelope, in a formal manner, avoiding abbreviations of any kind. Include the full name of the addressee, as well as fully spelled out state names. Place the return address on the back flap of this envelope, if desired.

    • 2

Place the graduation announcement in the smaller envelope, without the gummed flap. The text of the announcement should be facing the flap. Leave the flap untucked and unsealed.

    • 3

Write the person or people's names on the front of the smaller envelope. Forgo formal names, and opt for familiar, more personal names.

    • 4

Place the smaller envelope inside the larger envelope with the smaller envelope's flap facing the inside of the larger envelope. The front of the smaller envelope, with the informal address, should be facing the larger envelope's flap.

    • 5

Seal the large envelope securely, attach the required postage and mail, or hand deliver.
