How to Braid Bulk Hair
When it comes to adding hair to your doll or crafts project, the hair can be the crowning glory. How you handle the hair as you remove it from the package is an integral factor in the appearance of the finished project. Between snipping the package open and letting all that hair loose, you must take the correct measures to ensure a neat set of braids. Combining the bulk hair with your doll's hair in braids requires even more precision. Anybody who knows how to braid and has steady hands can pull off this project easily.

1
Remove the hair from its packaging. Carefully divide it into small sections less than a half inch in diameter. Secure with hair ties in the exact middle of each section of hair.
-
2
Bend a section of hair in half. Work the hair tie off the section, holding the middle point securely between your index finger and thumb. Place the middle point near the doll's scalp, continuing to hold tightly.

Hold the bent section of bulk hair so its two sections hang down evenly from the doll's scalp. You will use these two sections as two of three sections to braid together with the doll's hair. Gather a small amount of doll's hair for the middle section of the braid. Braid the doll's hair with the bulk hair.

Once you get close to the end of the doll's hair length, add hair from the two other braiding sections so you may continue braiding after the doll's hair section runs out. Once you've reached the end of your braid, secure with a small hair tie.

Tips & Warnings
You may add hair to the underside of the doll's scalp to create hair extensions. Stop the braid at the point where the doll's hair runs out so the braid is not visible.
If necessary, you may wash the hair after finishing the braids.
If the hair is not perfectly even at the bottom, trim it with scissors.
Handle bulk hair carefully. Don't allow it to become loose or tangle.
