Consider your child's size and age. Britax offers car seats designed for weights from 5 through 65 pounds. They also have booster seats that can be used for children up to 120 pounds. Height limits, which include total height and seated shoulder height, also vary for each seat.

Determine the length of time you will use the seat. A seat that will work as an infant seat for your car as well as your stroller will be very different from one that will be useful as your child grows into a booster seat.
