How to Change the Domain Controller Name
The domain controller (DC) on a network is the main server that hosts permissions and security authentication on a Windows 2003 network. The DC was introduced in Windows NT and persists as a main server in any medium- to large-sized network. When a user logs into the domain, the credentials are checked with the DC. The DC then sets the permissions for the user on the network. When installing a Windows server operating system, you are prompted for a name to give to the server. However, you can change that name in the system properties.
