How to Email Photos As a Slideshow

Sending your cherished photos as an email slideshow is an alternative to sending them as single picture attachments. By creating a slideshow, you can make the photos come to life. Because the slideshow is engaging, your email recipients will enjoy watching it over and over again. You can buy software programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Xtreme PhotoStory and ProShow to create a photo slideshow. However, many online programs will allow you to accomplish this task for free.

Instructions

    • 1

Visit a website that allows users to create email slideshows, such as Slide, FlickR or SmileBox. See the Resources section below for links to these websites.

    • 2

Select the "Sign Up" or "Create Account" option to create a new user account. All of the websites mentioned in the previous step will allow you to sign up for a free account. Free accounts tend to be the "norm" across the board when it comes to email slideshow creations.

    • 3

Select the option to "Create Slideshow" or "Make Slideshow." The exact wording will vary from site to site. Depending upon the website you are using, it may be necessary for you to log onto your new account with the username and password that was assigned to you during the account setup process. After logging in, you can click on the option to "Create a new slideshow."

    • 4

Choose the "Upload" option. Browse through the photos on your computer and choose the ones you want to use in a slideshow. Ensure that your photos are in ".JPEG" or ".GIF" format to avoid any problems with the upload process.

    • 5

Customize your slideshow. Slide, FlickR and SmileBox will allow you to add text to your slideshow, music, decorative borders, transition effects between photos, as well as to adjust the speed of the slideshow.

    • 6

Click "Save" when you are satisfied with the appearance of your slideshow. The slideshow will then be stored on the website's server.

    • 7

Click the option to "Share" the slideshow. Enter the email address(es) where you want your slideshow sent. Slide and FlickR will also provide you with a link to your slideshow. Simply place the link for your slideshow inside of your email message(s).

Once the recipient receives your email, he will be able to click on the link and view the slideshow online, without having to sign up for an account.
