Locate the holes in the metal bed frame. There should be a series of holes on either side of the head of the bed. Multiple holes allow for various sizes and styles of headboards.

Place your headboard at the head of the bed and align with the holes in the bed frame. If you are working with a partner, have him hold the headboard in place. If you are working alone, push the bed with the aligned headboard up against a wall so that it will stay in place while you're attaching it to the frame.

Use the screws or bolts that came with the headboard to secure it to the frame. If you are missing any parts, measure the aperture and length needed, and purchase standard bolts from a hardware store. Tighten all screws and nuts thoroughly before moving the bed into position.
