How to Backup XBox Games Using a PC
Creating backups of old games is an excellent way to ensure that your library of titles never shrinks due to the typical wear and tear that CDs and DVDs go through as you use them. Backing up console games can be something of a challenge if you do not know what you are doing, but while it may seem difficult it is not too hard once you get started. In fact, once you have everything connected to each other, it is a simple matter of burning a disk.
Things You'll Need
- Softmodded or Hardmodded Xbox
- Internet router

Backing up Xbox Games
-
1
Connect both your Xbox and your PC to your Internet router. If you do not have a router, a crossover cable can work in a pinch.
-
2
Power on your Xbox and boot into Linux. Depending on the type of softmod (or hardmod) you have, you will either have to use a memory card and a copy of either "Splinter Cell," "MechAssault," or "007: Agent Under Fire" or simply load the "Linux" profile from your dashboard menu.

3
Boot Craxtion 4.0 on your PC and double-click "Add Network Xbox" found near the bottom of the left-hand sidebar. This will bring up the "Add a Network Connection" window.
-
4
Enter your Xbox IP address in the "Add a Network Connection" window and click "Add." If you do not have the IP to your Xbox, you can find it under "Network Settings."
-
5
Click the "Wizards" tab at the top of the Craxtion window and select "Start Menu Wizard." This will generate the Welcome screen with a series of options. Select "Disc Ripper" from the list of options.
-
6
Select the folder you wish to save the disc files to and click "Rip" or "OK." This process will take a few minutes.
-
7
Wait for the "iso" creation window to pop-up. An "iso" file is a disk image. Choose the folder you wish to save the "iso" file to and click "OK" to create the file. Once done, the backup of the game data is complete.

Tips & Warnings
You can use a CD/DVD-burning backup and creation software like "Alcohol 120%" to burn the "iso" files to blank DVD-R discs to play on your Xbox.
Burning games to sell is an illegal practice. Only backup games for personal use.
Do not use these backups to play on Xbox LIVE; your account will be banned and your system locked, if you do.
