How to Make a Pool Stick Holder
A pool stick holder is simple to make when mounting it on the wall is an option. Just four pieces of wood and a little drilling is all it takes to make a top-and-bottom-piece rack that will keep six sticks organized, stored out of the way, protected and ready for use. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need

- Wood drill bits

Instructions

1
Use the saw to cut two pieces of trim 1/2 inch by 3 inches by 15 inches long and two pieces of trim 1/2 inch by 3 inches by 14 inches long.
-
2
Use the saw to rip-cut the two pieces of trim that are 14 inches long down to 2 inches wide. You should now have two pieces of trim measuring 3 inches by 15 inches and two pieces measuring 2 inches by 14 inches.

3
Drill six holes with 1 inch diameters evenly spaced all the way through one of the 14 inch pieces of trim. Lay this piece on top of the other 14 inch piece and mark the outlines of the six holes. The piece with the holes all the way through will be the top of the rack that the pool sticks will stick through.
-
4
Drill six holes with one inch diameters in the marked piece of 14 inch trim. Drill them only 1/4 inch deep so they do not go all the way through. This piece will be the bottom of the rack that the sticks will sit on top of.
-
5
Use wood screws to attach the top 14 inch piece of trim to one of the 15 inch pieces. Align it 1 inch from the top edge and 1/2 inch from the side of the piece. Use the drill to make pilot holes through the back of the 15 inch piece for the wood screws. Drill two 1/8 inch holes through the 15 inch piece about 10 inches apart. These will be used for mounting the rack to the wall.
-
6
Use wood screws to attach the bottom 14 inch piece of trim to the other 15 inch piece of trim. Align it 1 inch from the bottom edge and 1/2 inch from the side of the piece. Attach it to the other 15 inch piece and drill mounting holes the same as the top piece.
-
7
Mount the top and bottom racks aligned vertically and approximately 4 feet apart on the wall.

Tips & Warnings
Attach a scrap piece of wood to the back side of wood that is being drilled. It will prevent splintering of the edges of the hole as the drill bit exits the wood.
Paint or stain the racks before mounting on the wall.
Attach racks to wall studs or use toggle bolts for solid mounting support.
Always take safety precautions and wear proper safety equipment while using hand tools.
