How to Get a Laptop to Pick Up Wireless Service

      Power on the laptop computer and wait for the operating system to boot.

      Right-click the wireless Internet icon in the lower right corner of the desktop. This brings up a new pull-down menu.

      Select "View Available Wireless Networks." This brings up a selection of different possible Internet connections that are in range of the computer.

      Select the wireless Internet connection you want to use. If a password is required, you need to type it in now.
