Instructions

    • 1

Cut one piece of fabric 4-/2 inches wide and 5-/2 inches tall. Cut two pieces of fabric 4-/2 inches wide and 3-/4 inches tall. The fabric can be cotton, satin or polyester, as long as it is no thicker than denim.

    • 2

Fold down 1/4 inch on one long edge on one of the smaller fabric pieces. Finger press it or pin it to hold the fold. Make another 1/4-inch fold on the same piece, folding under the first fold. Pin to hold it in place.

    • 3

Sew along the folded piece near the fold edge to create a hem. Repeat steps 2 and 3 on the smaller piece of fabric.

    • 4

Place the larger piece of fabric on the table, wrong side down. Put one of the smaller pieces of fabric over the bottom of the larger piece, matching the bottom and two side edges. Make sure the smaller piece is wrong side up. Pin around the three outside edges.

    • 5

Lay the other smaller piece on the larger piece, matching the bottom and two side edges, on the top half of the larger piece. Pin around all three sides to hold it in place.

    • 6

Sew a 1/4-inch seam around all three sides you have pinned on each of the smaller pieces of fabric, sewing them to the larger piece at both ends. This creates a pocket at either end of the larger piece of fabric.

    • 7

Turn the pockets inside out so the outside of the fabric shows all the way around. Use a crochet hook, chopstick or other blunt stick to push the corners out completely.

    • 8

Fold the completed credit card case in half with both pockets inside.

    • 9

Cut a piece of ribbon 12 inches long. Find the center of the ribbon strip, and sew this to the center of the holder fold with a needle and thread. When the credit card holder is folded, wrap the ribbon around the holder and tie it in a bow to keep it closed.

Tips & Warnings

  • Experiment with adding lace, ribbon or buttons for a more decorative holder.
