How to Hide Wires Coming From the TV

If you have multiple devices connected to your television you proably have a large amount of cables running out of the TV. This can be very distracting to look at and a bit of an eyesore, so it may be best to hide the wires from view. With a few strategic placements of devices and television stands, hiding the cables and wires from view should be easy.

Check your television to see if there is a cable organizer on the back. Some new televisions has a small flap that can be pulled out, directly under the cable ports. This flap allows you to run the cables through, then close the flap. This secures all of the cables in the same area, keeping them from running wild around the back of your TV.

Wrap the cables with cable organizers. These are separate devices from the TV and can be wrapped around groups of cables to better organize them. Even if you have the built-in TV organizer it may be a good idea to wrap one of these around the cables every few feet. This keeps them from twisting off and poking into view.

Place the TV on an entertainment center. An entertainment center that is built up around the TV hides all cables from view because you have to run the cables through the back, behind the devices and entertainment center.

Place books, DVDs or other devices to the sides of the TV. This will block the view of the cables from different angles.

Contact an electrician if you want to run the cables through the walls. If you have drywall it shouldn't be a problem, but you want to make sure you aren't poking holes into walls that need to remain intact. Although you may have to pay someone to investigate the situation, it is better to be safe than sorry.
