Instructions

    • 1

Choose a tee shirt to use. You'll want a tee shirt that you're not going to wear any more, but that has a design that you find appealing. You'll still be able to see most of any design that's on the tee shirt, so keep that in mind when selecting a tee shirt.

    • 2

Cut the sleeves off of the shirt. Using scissors, follow the seam around the arm to remove the sleeves.

    • 3

Cut the neck out in a V shape. From about 3 inches from the edge of the shirt on either side, cut out a V. Your tee shirt should look like a tank top at this point.

    • 4

Turn the tee shirt inside out.

    • 5

Fold the tee shirt so that the outside seams match up. Twisting the shirt 90 degrees, line up the side seams. At this point, you can see a more clear bag shape, with the former arm holes acting as the bag's handle.

    • 6

Close the bottom of the shirt. For a sturdy bag, use a sewing machine or needle and thread to close the bottom. If you don't have a sewing machine, you can staple the bag shut, but take care to not put heavy items into the bag. If you want a shorter bag, you can cut off a portion of the bottom of your tee shirt.

    • 7

Turn the bag right side out. You now have your tee shirt bag.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you want your bag to be stronger, you can line the inside with duct tape.
