How to Create a Sports Gift Certificate

If you cannot decide what to give a sports-loving friend for a holiday or birthday, then consider making your own creative gift certificate. You can download free, blank gift certificates from the Internet and customize them into creative gifts. Give a day at the golf course, a rappelling session, a weekend of mountain climbing, biking or camping. Put your certificate in a standard envelope. The certificate will serve as an "IOU" for an event that you will pay for later.

Instructions

    • 1

Print a free, blank gift certificate from the Internet. Gift Tango allows you to fill out all the information on the gift certificate before you print.

    • 2

Cut out the gift certificate with a pair of scissors. You can use standard scissors, or you can use scissors with decorative cuts. The latter are available in the scrapbooking section of craft stores. They provide scalloped, curved and wavy edging, among others.

    • 3

Embellish the gift certificate with sports stickers. If your gift is golf lessons, then place golf balls and clubs on the gift certificate. If your gift is tickets to a professional soccer game, then place soccer balls on the gift certificate. You get the idea. Be creative. If you run out of room, consider embellishing the envelope instead.

    • 4

Sign and date the gift certificate. Use a fine-tipped pen of your choice. A paint marker is a decorative, bold choice. You can use silver or gold to add some extra pizazz.
