How to Become a Member of the Native American Church

The Native American Church practices Peyotism. Incorporating peyote, a spiritual psychotropic drug, into its everyday spiritual rituals, the Native American Church seeks higher spiritual awareness, healing and a connection to the divine. Although there has been some controversy, the Native American Church has retained the right to continue practicing Peyotism. Only official members of the church are permitted to practice Peyotism, and one must apply to be accepted as an official member.
