How to Convert PC Movies to Use on a ZEN MP3 Player
The Creative Zen line of MP3 players is a very popular personal audio family. Creative Zen players allow users to organize and listen to music on the go, and just like most other modern MP3 players, most models also allow video to be played wherever you are. There are some video and audio formats that are compatible with Creative Zen and some that are not, but converting a video file that runs on a PC for use with Creative Zen players is easy business.

Open VLC media player. VLC is a versatile audio and video player with encoding options that will allow you to convert your file to be used on your Creative Zen MP3 player. If you do not have VLC, it can be downloaded from the site in the Resources section.

Use VLC to open the file you wish to play on your Creative Zen MP3 player. Stop the file playing and go to the "File" menu. Select the "Streaming/Exporting Wizard." Select "Transcode/Save to File." Select the file from your play list and click "Next."

Select the format to be converted to. Of the video file formats offered by VLC, Creative Zen MP3 players support Motion JPEG, MPEG4 and DivX3. Select one of these formats to convert your file to. If in doubt, DivX3 is a good first choice. Select MP3 audio, and for the containment method, select MPG. Use VLC's recommended bitrate and sample sizes or specify your own. Click through the Wizard to specify an output destination and file name, and convert your file.

Launch Creative Centrale, the software your Creative Zen MP3 player uses to import files. If you do not have Creative Centrale, it can be downloaded from the Creative Web site's "Support" section. This Web site can be found in the Resources section.

Add the converted movie file to the Creative Centrale library. Connect your Creative Zen MP3 player to your computer. Select the file you wish to send to the player in Creative Centrale and select "Transfer." Your file is now ready to play on your Creative Zen MP3 player.

Tips & Warnings
If the movie does not play clearly on your Creative Zen MP3 player, experiment with using a different file format or a higher bitrate. If the movie is too large to fit in your MP3 player's library, a lower bitrate may be needed.
