Instructions

    • 1

Design a look and concept by using bright, but sophisticated paint colors, chalkboard paint and corkboards. Add space for a gallery of children's artwork. Choose artwork and trim for walls with simple, playful lines and bright colors.

    • 2

Define zones with your floor plan. Create a play zone, with a colorful natural cotton rug surrounded by toy bins. Build a study area around a kid-scaled desk. Pile ottomans and soft, flexible furniture around a television and game area. Define your spaces with area rugs or carpet tiles. Add furniture that is flexible and easy to move from place to place.

    • 3

Organize the room with toy bins, storage cubes and shelves. Build extra storage space into benches. Include kid friendly furniture, such as a child size table and chairs. Adding baskets and containers helps keep toys and games organized and the room clutter free.
