How to Hook Up Leviton Gateway Router to Two Computers
A router is a device that allows multiple computers to be connected together on the same "network," enabling the sharing of files, printers and internet connections. Attaching two (or more) computers to a Leviton Gateway Router is a fairly painless process that will take your home computing to the next level. Even if you have never previously connected two computers to a router, you should be able to complete this process successfully in roughly 20 to 30 minutes.

1
Purchase a pair of ethernet cables from an online retailer or from your local electronics store. If time is not of the essence, an online retailer is best, as you will be able to get the required cables at a much lower price. Be sure to purchase cables that are long enough to reach the router from where your computers are located.

2
Attach the ethernet cable into the network card slot on the back of both computers, attaching the other ends into ports one and two on the router. The network card slot will be the only slot on the back of the computer into which the cables can fit, so do not worry about attaching them at the wrong place.

Restart both computers. As the computers reboot, you should notice that the two lights on the side of the network card slot on each computer will be on. This indicates that the computers have been successfully attached to the Leviton Router and are ready to be utilized on a home network.

Tips & Warnings
Reboot both the computers and the router (by pulling the plug and reinserting it) if the lights on the back of the network card fail to display.
If the computer refuses to connect to the router, try swapping in a different ethernet cable, network card or router to see if one of the components is faulty.
