How to Empty Your Junk Mail Folder
Junk email, often referred to as "spam," is unsolicited email that you receive from advertisers. Businesses purchase your email address from other companies that you have revealed your address to, or from public listings on your personal website or social networking page. You can install programs in your email that will send spam to a junk mail folder so that it does not clutter your inbox. When the time comes to empty your spam folder, it is fast and easy to do with just a click of the mouse.

Click on your junk mail folder. Scan the contents to make sure there are no valuable messages. If you see a familiar email address from a personal contact, or if you see an email from a company that you signed up for, mark it as not being spam. In Gmail and Yahoo! Mail, this can be done by clicking on the box next to the email and clicking the button "Not Spam" above the messages. In Outlook, simply right click on the message that you want to allow, point your mouse to "Junk E-mail" and click "Mark as Not Junk."
