How to Convert Dish Network System Into DSL for Computer
Dish Network is best known for providing satellite television to homes, but another related service offered by the company is digital subscriber line (DSL) Internet access. DSL Internet is a form of broadband Internet access that provides substantially faster speeds when compared to traditional Internet running over phone signals. Hooking your computer up to Dish Network's DSL service is easier than you might expect. The entire process can be completed in 10 to 30 minutes.

1
Connect the modem provided by Dish Network to the wall attachment point using a coaxial cable. The cable and the modem will work together to distill the DSL signal from the normal Dish Network signal, enabling the possibility of Internet access. Be sure that the cable is tight at both the wall connection point and at the modem connection point for an optimal signal.

2
Plug the router into the Dish Network DSL modem by using an Ethernet cable. While there will only be one Ethernet port on the modem, there are several on the router. Plug the connection into the router port that is slightly offset from the others---this port will be labeled with something that says "Input," "Signal" or something similar, while the other ports on the router will be numbered.

Hook the computer up to the router through the use of another Ethernet cable. Plug the cable into the network port on the back of your computer, then into the port marked "1" on the router.
-
4
Reboot the computer after attaching it to the router. The computer will automatically detect the DSL signal coming from the router, providing you with instant access to Dish Network DSL.
