How to Connect a DVD Player to a Surround Sound Receiver

DVD players use three jacks and a standard set of audio/video cables to deliver picture and sound to a television or surround sound receiver connected to a TV. The composite AV cables are color-coded for simple connections between the DVD player and a home theater surround sound receiver. Setting up a DVD player and surround sound receiver should take less than five minutes.
