How to Treat a Cough Using Raw Honey

Honey's amazing medicinal properties have been in use for some 2,500 years. The sticky stuff is a powerful antioxidant and, when taken daily, increases antioxidant levels in the blood, which is important as antioxidants combat the free radicals that destroy the body's cells. Honey contains a multitude of vitamins and minerals including vitamin C, many of the B vitamins, potassium, calcium, iron and many more. Honey is also considered a great balancer of the blood sugar. One of honey's many home uses is as a cough/sore throat/cold remedy.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure and pour 1 tsp. of honey. You can pour the honey onto another spoon if you want, but keep in mind that honey is very thick and sticky.

    • 2

      Swallow the teaspoon of honey.

    • 3

Complete this process twice daily until cough or other cold symptoms disappear.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure you are purchasing raw, unprocessed honey. If the honey is not raw, the majority of the nutrients have been taken out of it, rendering it just about useless for any medicinal purposes.
