How to Cover Up Tattoos With Skin Color Ink
Whether you're going to be a bridesmaid at a wedding, applying for a job or need to disguise your body ink from someone, there are many reasons you might want to hide a tattoo. Things You'll Need
- Mild soap
- Washcloth
- Small towel
- Moisturizer
- Tattoo camouflage or blemish concealer
- 2 foam foundation makeup pads
- Plastic spoon (optional)
- Small plate (optional)
- Loose powder
- Powder brush

Change into clothing that reveals your tattoo or tattoos in their entirety.

Wash the tattoo and surrounding area with the soap and washcloth. Pat dry with a towel and allow the skin to air dry completely. Any excess dirt or oil should be removed to allow makeup to adhere.

Squeeze a dime-size amount of moisturizer onto one of the foam pads and moisturize the area to be covered. According to Smart Cover Cosmetics, this helps prepare the skin to accept the concealer.

Dip the other foundation pad into the concealer tub to scrape up a small portion of concealer. If your concealer comes in a tube, squeeze a small dot onto the pad. If you have a large tattoo and will need several applications of concealer, take the plastic spoon and scoop the concealer onto a plate. This will prevent you from dipping the pad back into the concealer once it has touched your skin and cut down on bacteria.

Dab the concealer around the edges of the tattoo and work inward. Once the tattoo has been covered loosely with cover-up, begin working it into the skin with a gentle touch. Don't rub it all the way in, or the tattoo will show through.

Apply loose powder on top of the cover-up with the powder brush. Let it sit for five minutes, then come back and analyze the application. If you find the tattoo still needs more coverage, you can apply a little more concealer on top of the powder. Reapply the powder after the second coating of concealer.
