How to Store Bullet Casings for Reloading at a Gun Show
Bullet casings, also referred to as brass or reloading brass, are essentially small, closed-end brass tubes. The brass holds a measured amount of black powder and features a small hole in the enclosed end that allows a spark to pass through from the external primer to ignite the powder. A bullet made of lead or other material is seated into the large open end of the brass casing. Bullet casings are reusable and are often found for sale at local gun shows.

Examine the brass prior to packing in plastic storage bags. Make sure the brass does not show signs of cracking, splits or dents.

Purchase quality storage bags for storing the casings and transporting to the gun show. Refer to packaging distributors for a selection of bags featuring thick-mil plastic. Home food storage bags may work but typically feature plastic that is too thin for this purpose.

Use clear or opaque bags when possible. This allows for examination by buyers at the gun show without having to necessarily open the bags.

Place a quantity of casings into a bag. Consider how the casings are to be sold, quantities and pricing. If, for example, bullet casings are sold by the pound, determine the weight of the casings and package by weight. Notate the weight on the bag for easy reference.

Pack the bags in a box for transport to the show. Also consider using larger plastic bags for packing several of the smaller bags. This may also prove to be a convenient means of sale at the show. Buyers may purchase small or large amounts of reloading brass. Having the individual bags also packed in groups into larger bags is convenient for both sale and purchase.
