How to Convert Ethernet to Audio & Video
In many instances it is much cheaper to run a CAT-5 Ethernet cable over long distances than to run expensive audio and video cables over the same distance. Using a small converter box, you can run over two thousand feet of CAT-5 cable between your video source and video output without suffering any appreciable quality loss.

Find the appropriate video converter box for your input device. Use the store link in the Resources section of this guide to find the right converter box for your needs.

Buy Ethernet cable. CAT 5e is the bare minimum; CAT 6 is a bit more expensive but worth the investment.

Find the right converter box for your output device. This does not need to be the same as the input device, although it can be.

Buy any adapters necessary to connect your converter boxes to your input wires. You should not have the converter box directly connected to either your input our output device unless it can rest comfortably on a surface without pulling at the plug connection. Use either an adapter or an extension cable to bridge any gaps between the converter box and your input or output device.
