How to Connect My iPod to My Jeep Commander
Since its introduction in 2001, the iPod has become a virtual must-have item for virtually anyone, especially those on the go. But listening to your music with headphones isn't an option while you're driving. However, by using a 3.5-millimeter to 3.5-millimeter audio cable, you can connect your iPod to your Jeep Commander's stereo so that you can listen to your music over your car speakers. The 2010 Jeep Commander has two stereo options: a basic, non-touch-screen model and a more advanced touch-screen model. Both can be connected to your iPod.

Insert one end of the audio cable in the headphone jack on your iPod.

Connect the other end of the cable into the auxiliary jack on the Commander's stereo. The jack is labeled "Aux" and is located in the lower right corner of the stereo.

Press the "Aux" button on the top of the stereo, if you're using the non-touch-screen stereo. If you're using the touch-screen stereo, then press the "Radio/Media" button until the screen displays "Aux." This will connect your iPod to the stereo.

Tips & Warnings
Your iPod will work the same while hooked up to your car stereo as it would if you were listening to it with your headphones.
Your iPod will not charge while connected to your Jeep Commander's stereo. For long drives, you may want to plug your iPod into an optional car charger.
