How to Add & View a PDF to a Web Page
While Web-design software makes it simple to add and display images and create forms, which users can submit online, sometimes it's necessary to upload and view PDF files. This can be true if we want to share PowerPoint presentations, event flyers or multi-page Word documents such as white papers or contracts. PDF files are ideal if you want your visitors to be able to preview high-quality versions of a document or print them out with relative ease.

1
Create a PDF file. If you're creating a PDF from a Microsoft file, print to a PDF converter in your print option. In Photoshop, save the document as a PDF file and make sure there is a checkmark next to "Optimize for fast Web preview" in the "Save As" dialog box. You can also upload your file to a Web-based PDF converter for free conversion.

2
Use your FTP client to upload your PDF file to your hosting account file manager. When you're done, write down the file extension so you can check whether the upload was successful. For example, if you added your file to a folder called "PDF_files" in your "Images" folder, your file domain and file extension will be: http://www.your domain.com/images/pdf_files/yourfile.pdf.

3
Check your file online. Type the URL address, which you identified in Step Two, in the address bar of your browser. After about a minute, your PDF document should appear in a PDF reader that enables you to adjust the viewing percentage, click to the next page, print the document and download it to your computer. If you can view the PDF, your upload was successful. Copy the URL and get ready to paste it somewhere in your Web site.

4
Choose a place on your site where you want to include a link to the PDF. This can be on your homepage or on another page that is more appropriate. You can also place the link in more than one location. Using your Web design-software, add a link on a page that will take visitors to your PDF file. Name your link appropriately. For instance, if you're uploading a new sales presentation, call your link "The Latest Sales Presentation" and link it to your PDF.

5
Upload the new page where your link to the PDF is located; use your FTP client to do this. Test the link on your updated site.
