How to Convert King Sheets to Split-King
A "split-king," or "dual-king," bed is the same size as a normal king size bed, but instead of one mattress, it is actually two twin-size mattresses placed side by side to form one larger platform. The flat sheet and pillowcases from your king sheet set are perfectly good to utilize in this process, but you will need to buy two new fitted sheets to accommodate the individual mattresses in the bed. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Separate the flat sheet and pillowcases from the fitted sheet. You will not be able to use the fitted sheet in this situation. Donate it to a family member, or friend, or save it for later use.
-
2
Decide whether you want your fitted sheet to be identical to the flat sheet and pillowcases, or select a different color or pattern to complement the flat sheet and pillowcases.
-

3
Determine the depths of the twin mattresses. Typically, if the mattresses are 13 inches deep or less, then a standard 16-inch pocketed fitted sheet will accommodate the mattress. But, if the mattresses exceed 13 inches in depth, then a 22-inch pocketed fitted sheet will be necessary to properly cover each mattress.
-
4
Get two appropriately pocketed, twin-size, fitted sheets of your pattern and color choice.
-
5
Cover each mattress with each fitted sheet.
-
6
Cover both mattresses with the king size flat sheet. You now have two individually sheet-covered mattresses under a king size flat sheet, preserving the constitution and appearance of the king size bed.
