How to Convert Movies for the iTouch

The Apple iTouch device supports the .MP4, .M4V and .MOV file types. Digital movies must be converted into one of these file types in order to be played on an iTouch. To convert digital movies, a video conversion utility is used. Many conversion utilities are available for download or purchase. However, one utility, Media-Convert, is available online and is free to use. No additional software installations are required. Media-Convert will convert digital movie files to iTouch-compatible files in just a few quick steps.

Instructions

1. Open Media-Convert in a new browser window. Click the "Browse" button and navigate to the digital movie file.

2. Select the "Automatic Detection" option from the Input File type box.

3. Select "No Video Presets" from the first Output Format box.

4. Select one of the compatible video file types for the iTouch from the second box. Compatible types include .m4v, .mp4 and .mov.

5. Click the "OK" button to convert the file.

6. Navigate to the new file and test in a compatible player.

7. Transfer to the iTouch and copy into the video section .Verify the movie by playing on the iTouch.
