How to Repair a Kohler Faucet in a Bathroom Sink
Kohler bathroom faucets come in two types with either the handles and faucets as a single piece or as three separate pieces for the cold water, faucet and hot water. Possible problems can take place when water does not come on or off when the handle is rotated or when leaking occurs. - Flat-head screwdriver
- Philips head screwdriver
- Adjustable wrench.
- Replacement washers and plastic fittings for faucet mechanism

Disassemble the faucet

Turn off the water by closing the two water cut-off valves under the sink. One is for cold and the other for hot.

Use the flat-head screwdriver to remove the plastic cap on the hot and cold water handles.

Remove the phillips-head screws holding on the handles.

Remove the handles.

Remove the six-sided fitting under the handles by turning counter-clockwise with the adjustable wrench. This opens the faucet valves.
Repairing the faucet

Examine all the metal components inside the faucet. Broken metal parts may mean the faucet cannot be repaired and must be replaced.

Replace any worn or broken rubber on the plastic parts inside the faucet valves.

Remove the screen over the water faucet outlet. Turn the screen counter-clockwise by hand in order to detach it.

Check for dirt or obstructions in the screen. Clean the screen and put it back into place.
Reassembling the faucet.

Insert each water valve back into the faucet after replacing any worn or broken parts. Turn the six-sided fitting with the adjustable wrench clockwise until tight.

Replace the cold water and hot water handles. Ensure the handle marked "cold" is on the left and the "hot" handle is on the right.

Replace the phillips-head screws fastening the handles to the faucet by turning clockwise.

Ensure the water handles are both in the "off" position and turn on the water supply under the sink.

Test both handles for operation and for any leaking. Repeat repair process if water still leaks in the same or different manner.
