How to Do Tissue Paper Flowers

Children love simple crafts. Easy-to-do paper tissue flowers on indoor days are fun to create. Instead of the television or video games, encourage your child to make a craft. These special moments will be treasured memories. Gather up leftover tissue paper of all colors, a pair of child safety scissors and a ruler. Using white tissue paper, your child or grandchild can color, draw, add glitter or stickers to create her own one-of-a-kind tissue paper flower.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure and cut tissue paper into 6-inch-by-6-inch squares. Stack six squares of tissue paper, one on top of the other. Alternate two colors if preferred.

    • 2

Fan fold the stack of tissue paper on a solid surface. Staple the middle of the fan fold. Cut each end into a point or curve for petal end shape. Cut a small V out of each side of the center fan. Do not to cut completely across the paper.

    • 3

Separate each layer of tissue paper by peeling each individual layer towards the opposite side. Repeat all sides until all of one side has been peeled back. Repeat and peel back the other side.

    • 4

Layer two colors of tissue for multicolored flowers. Use white paper to color, draw or embellish with stickers. Color edges of cut paper before fan fold for edging in another color or lighter color to give depth.
