3
Place the damp towel over the wax on the wool rug and place the warm iron over the towel. Move the iron back and forth over the wax area for two to three seconds and check the underside of the towel to see how much wax has transferred to the towel.

Move the towel to a clean spot and place it back over the wax stain. Continue ironing the area for two to three seconds and moving the towel to a clean area. Work until the entire wax residue has melted off the rug and transferred to the towel. Use

6
Spray the stained area with spot cleaner. Consult the instructions on the spot cleaner and allow the spot cleaner to sit on the stain for the recommended time. Blot at the stain with a towel to remove the stain. Continue working until all remaining stain is gone, being careful not to overly saturate the wool carpet. A light application of the spot cleaner is best.

7
Mix three parts cool water and one part white vinegar into the spray bottle. Close the bottle and shake the contents to mix the ingredients well.

8
Spray the diluted vinegar over the area to neutralize the area. Leave the diluted vinegar on the rug for two seconds and then blot it up with a dry towel. Repeat the diluted vinegar application one more time and blot it up with the dry towel to finish.
