How to Get a State GED Fast
If you need a General Education Development (GED), you can obtain one in a short amount of time. Self-study and online prep courses are the quickest route. There are five main topic areas you will need to prepare for: math, language arts, reading language arts, writing social studies and science. The American Council on Education (ACE) reports that nearly all employers throughout the nation are prepared to offer the same benefits, wages and opportunities for advancement to GED graduates as they are to high school graduates.

Prepare for the exam. How long you will need to study depends on factors such as: your last year of school completed, how long it's been since you left school, your available study time and any possible learning disabilities. You can access online study sites or purchase a GED prep book at your local library or book store. Test yourself and check for understanding, ensuring you are proficient in the five subject areas of the test.
