Instructions

    • 1

Cut the top rim from the cup to leave a paper cup that is about 3 inches tall.

    • 2

Use the hole punch to make four holes along the top edge of the cup. Place each hole an equal distance apart and about 1 inch away from the top edge of the cup.

    • 3

Use the tip of the scissors to make a hole in the center of the bottom of the cup. Make the hole roughly the same size as the punched holes.

    • 4

Decorate the outside and inside of the cup with the paints and markers. Make it as colorful and bright as you desire. Allow the paint to dry before proceeding.

    • 5

Cut 20 circles 2 inches in diameter from the card stock. Decorate both sides of the card stock with paint or markers to match the paper cup. Allow the paint to dry before proceeding.

    • 6

Glue a metal washer to the center of one side of each card stock circle. Allow the glue to dry completely before proceeding.

    • 7

Cut four 1-foot long lengths of string and cut one 17-inch long length of string.

    • 8

Tie a bell to the end of the four shorter strings. Tie a washer to the end of the longer string.

    • 9

Lay out all five strings and position the card stock circles at even intervals along each string with four circles on each string. Glue the card stock circles to the strings with the glue on the side of the circles without the metal washers. Allow the glue to dry completely before proceeding. The glue will dry clear and you will not see it.

    • 10

Tie the ends of the shorter strings (the ends without the bells) to the holes in the cup using double knots.

    • 11

Tie a 3-inch loop in the other end of the longer string and insert the loop through the hole in the bottom of the cup. Make sure the knot at the base of the loop is large enough to prevent the knot from pulling through the hole.

    • 12

Hang the wind chime by the loop.
