How to Troubleshoot an AVG Uninstall
The AVG Antivirus is available in free and commercial versions for use in your home, at schools or in an enterprise environment. Sometimes, the antivirus software can become corrupted from malware infection or productivity software upgrades and requires removal. If you try to remove AVG Antivirus after installing other computer security software or upgrading other computer applications, you may need to troubleshoot the AVG uninstall.

Exit from all open applications on your computer. You will then need to open the "Control Panel" by choosing the "Start" menu button followed by the "Settings" and "Control Panel" menu choices.

Select the "Add or Remove" programs menu icon listed under "Control Panel" and click the "AVG Antivirus" program. Then, click the "Remove Program" menu option. Acknowledge your intentions to uninstall AVG and permit Windows to uninstall the application.

Reboot the computer and check the Window's desktop and Start menu to see if the AVG program icons have been removed. If they have not proceed to the next step.

Navigate to the AVG Antivirus homepage listed below if the AVG antivirus failed to uninstall after following Steps 1 through 3. Download the latest AVG installation file to your computer. AVG does not produce a separate uninstall program from the installation executable.

Run the AVG installer by double clicking the downloaded install file. Select the "Uninstall" menu option when the installer launches. After the application has been removed, restart your computer and AVG will be uninstalled.
