Under the federal Apprenticeship Training program, you may be able to find an employer to teach you a trade, supervise you as you learn, and even pay you. Most of these places require either a high school diploma or a GED and an aptitude for the trade being learned. Best of all, you don't have to come from a low-income background to qualify for these programs. I am going to show you how to find out how to get a paid apprenticeship.

The first thing you need to do is to go to the U.S. Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration website: www.doleta.gov.

Click on the second tab entitled, "Find Job and Career Info". This will open up a page which contains resources and online tools to help workers in all stages of job and career development. You might want to save this page for future review.

Click on "Gain Experience and Credentials". This page lists programs and tools to find training you may need.

Scroll down to the "Apprenticeship" paragraph. Click on this. This section contains the purpose of the program, as well as a description, eligibility, as well as instructions on how to apply.
